Following the release of 2PM’s audio and video teaser for “Take Off”, JYP Entertainment has sent out an official statement regarding the group’s activities in Japan. 2PM’s new single “Take Off” which is slated to be released on the 18th of May has placed the top spot on Japan’s USEN weekly music chart under the Jpop Category last week.

When asked about 2PM’s progress in the country, JYP Entertainment was quoted saying that : “It’s great to see 2PM’s album take the top spot on several music charts in the country before its release next month. We believe the group’s popularity grew in the country after their showcase in December last year and with their appearances on Japan’s Mezamashi TV in February and performance at the fashion show for Tokyo Girls Collection (TGC) last month.”
Recently, 2PM’s “Take Off” has been featured as an ending song for the anime ” Blue Exorcist”. Despite the recent popularity in Japan, 2PM is said to be preparing for their upcoming album in Korea later this year.
