Dream Concert continues to headline our news as the day of the event approaches! After fanclub wars on seatplans and optimum security, tickets of the concert seemed to have sold in a record breaking 40,000 seats in one day. Organizers said that the tickets left to give out will be given to fans on certain events.
G Market, which has a monopoly on Dream Concert tickets, said in a telephone interview with Money Today Star News on the morning of the 4th, “We started selling tickets on 4/22, and by the 23rd 35,000~40,000 seats were sold out,” they revealed. They continued, “The only tickets now available are those that will be handed out to fans at events.” All seats for this concert were 5000 won [T/N: ~$5 USD] per ticket (including VAT).
Sponsored by the Association of Korean Entertainment Producers (president: Ahn Jung Dae), this year’s Dream Concert will be the 16th concert. The reason it has received even greater attention from music fans than in the past is because of the luxury lineup it bosts.
This year’s Dream Concert will feature Rain, Lee Hyori, Wonder Girls, SS501, Super Junior, 2PM, Shinee, Kara, U-Kiss, Ze:A, T-Ara, 4Minute, After School, f(x), Davichi, CNBLUE, F.Cuz, MBLAQ, Rainbow, Beast, and others that represent the solo artists and idol groups who enjoy the highest popularity in the country, 21 in all.
To improve the safety and services to this year’s Dream Concert audience members, seats will be assigned as they were last year. Except for the shipping cost of the tickets, the proceeds from all sales wil be donated in the audience members’ names to help the needy. This year’s Dream Concert is sponsored by G Market and is specially sponsored by the Ministry of Culture.
